 The Outer Banks are known for many things, but the most important are, of course, our 130 miles of pristine beaches and seashores. What makes the southern beaches so special is that 85% of the 60 miles from the Village of Rodanthe to Ocracoke Island is preserved as the Cape Hatteras National Seashore. Not to mention the best surfing on the East Coast. Two of our very own beaches topped this year's list of America's Best Beaches. Coming in at #3 is Ocracoke Island, and #10 is Cape Hatteras. This is quite an honor, and we are very excited to have two of the best beaches right here on the Outer Banks. The village of Avon is also home to The Canadian Hole; one of the most well known wind and kitesurfing spots in the world.  We at Kinnakeet Shores Resort are proud of our Olympic size pool and beautiful complex. Right next door are 2 great tennis courts. This pool and tennis complex is owned and operated by the Kinnakeet Shores Resort Property Owners and is for exclusive use to our members and their guests. Coming in the future is the construction of the Kinnakeet Shores Resort Clubhouse and Indoor Tennis Courts to be located adjacent to the pool and tennis complex. Our goal is to establish an environment for year-round family fitness.  Our beautiful boardwalk to the Pamlico Sound front is to be enjoyed by all Kinnakeet Shores Resort property owners and guests. This access, located at the northern end of the resort, is an ideal location for experiencing the natural beauty of the maritime forest and wildlife reserve. The boardwalk provides the opportunity for all to partake in activities including bird watching, fishing, parasailing, windsurfing and of course…experiencing our breathtaking sunsets!
 We are very excited about the completion of the new Kinnakeet Shores Resort Beach Club this fall. The beach club will provide an adult swimming pool, kiddie pool, bathhouse, covered pavilion, snack bar, observation deck and raised walkway to the beach. Membership will include most property owners and guests. Kinnakeet Shores Resort is home to some of the finest examples of beach cottages built anywhere on the Outer Banks.
